Overview

Set in a beautifully landscaped garden in the heart of Hout Bay, this guest house boasts stunning mountain and ocean views, making for an unforgettable holiday.

Thandekayo, meaning “warm welcome” in Zulu, offers 5 individually decorated en suite guest rooms that ensure intimate ambiance. Read a newspaper on the terrace that looks out to Hout Bay. After a refreshing morning swim, breakfast is served in the dining room or on the balcony, where wide views stretch from Chapmans Peak to Table Mountain.

The day can be spent relaxing on one of the loungers in the pool area or enjoying massages. For the more active, the attentive staff can also arrange rental cars and activities such as horse riding.

Photographic works of Martin Osner and Koos van der Lende, two of South Africa's fine photographic artists are on display throughout this unique guest house.

Area information

Hout Bay is a fishing village with a working harbour. The Hout Bay beach consists of a large stretch of white sand ideal for sun batheing. A number of charter companies also operate out of this harbour offering trips to Seal Island in a glass bottomed boat, as well as fishing and sailing adventures. There are horse riding trails with many stables in the area. A day visit to the renowned “World of birds” will keep the children well occupied. The village borders on the Table Mountain National Park where one can go on wonderful hikes. If you prefer site seeing from a vehicle a drive along Chapmans Peak to Noordhoek is unforgettable.
Travel information

By car:
- Arriving at Cape Town International Airport, follow the N2 into Cape Town.
- Take the M3 exit and continue in the direction of Rondebosch/Claremont.
- Change onto the M63, direction of Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Hout
Bay.
- Continue on this road until you reach Hout Bay.
- At the roundabout, turn right onto Victoria Road.
- Take the next road to your right (Valley Road).
- Turn left onto Lentedal, then take the first road to your right (Luisa Way).
- The guest house is on your left-hand side.
