Schoone Oordt Country House, a much-photographed Victorian landmark in Swellendam, offers you all you require for an utterly comfortable stay. Tucked away on over 5000m² of lush grounds, guests have access to woodland glades, a stunning swimming pool and a fragrant rose garden.

Breakfasts are extensive, delicious and served in the sunlight-filled conservatory in the mornings. Dinners are prepared by the renowned Koornlands Restaurant, one of the top eateries in Swellendam, and enchant with a fusion of Cape Country and European cuisine.

All suites, designed to blend in with the character of the main house, are decorated with special and antique furnishings.

Travel information

By car:
- Coming from Cape Town or George, follow the N2 motorway in the
direction of Swellendam.
- Turn off the motorway at exit Swellendam East.
- Continue back downhill and through the 3-way stop.
- Just after Koornlands River Bridge turn immediately right.
- Turn right right before the piece of grass on which Swellendam is written
with white bricks.

- Coming from Cape Town, follow the N1 motorway.
- Travel through the tunnel to Worcester.
- At the 3rd set of traffic lights turn right, direction of Robertson/Ashton.
- Continue through Robertson and Ashton.
- Just after Ashton turn right onto the R60, direction of Swellendam.
- Turn left at the 4-way stop and continue through town.
- Pass the large white church on your left and when the road forks keep left.
- Take the first right onto Swellengrebel Street.
- Schoone Oordt Country House is on your left-hand side.
